Cooking Up Great Eats
You might be surprised to learn that you can make your own food at home. It is often referred to as "cooking". Not the kind of cooking that starts with the opening of a frozen package and ends with the microwave. And not the kind of cooking that involves calling the local delivery service. Preparing a meal from scratch can be one of the most gratifying experiences of the day. Taking the ingredients of your choosing, any cuisine can be cooked up in your kitchen and served with a bit of style and panache. The benefits of making a meal at home are numerous and I won't bore you with a list. Just imagine piping hot, aromatic, and tasty treats emerging from that room with a sink , refrigerator, and that big thingy that gets hot when you turn some knobs.
The recipes featured on this page are culled from Anita's own classic recipe archive. Original recipes dating as far back as 1943 will be posted in their original format. Newspapers, magazine articles. product packaging, and indexed notecars are all part of the archive. Not only are these materials an interesting history of American cuisine, they can also serve as a cultural record of our shared past.
